PTSD app

After I was diagnosed with Chronic Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in March 2013, I signed up to receive a free monthly email newsletter from the National Center for PTSD (run out of the Department of Veterans Affairs). In the edition I got today, information was focused on all of the mobile apps out there related to self-care for PTSD. I had to share this right away.

I downloaded an app tonight called PTSD Coach. It allowed me to link some songs and pictures that help me relax as well as contact numbers for my inner circle of support. It has symptom management help, too. I did a relaxation exercise that just took a few minutes and really helped, even though I wasn’t in the midst of an episode.

If you are struggling, please explore these options. You are not alone.
